Pendleton Meets Opening Ceremony cardigan for sale!

The winter transition and darkness has hit me a bit hard in blogging land since there is rarely light to take outfit photos anymore, but I have some posts up my sleeve coming soon, I promise.

But...the point of this post is that I am selling this lovely Pendleton Meets Opening Ceremony sweater! It's a great sweater, but the colors just haven't been meshing with my current wardrobe, I'm sure all of you know how that goes. It's a loss for me, but possibly a gain for you! I don't have a cute little etsy store to sell it through, so you can find the listing on eBay at the below link. The auction ends tonight so bid away if you like it!

Watercolor sunset

Rooster Rock State Park, OR. 8.29.11

It's been far too long since I've posted on here (if anyone out there looks forward to my posts, I'm sorry!) but life has been busy lately! This blog is what I like to do when I have some down time to myself and I guess I haven't had a lot of that lately. It's mostly for good reasons though, like fun evenings with friends and adventure-filled weekends with the boy, so I can't really complain. Still, I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of outfit posts. I even have a few waiting to go already.

It got a little bit cold last week and it made me really excited for fall fashion. I think it might be my favorite fashion season, as I'm sure it is for a lot of people. Summer weather means less layering and to me, less fun and experimenting. So cheers to fall, boots, sweaters, and layers!

New watch!

Fossil Rose Gold Watch

I got so lucky when I found this watch a few weeks ago at Nordstrom Rack, I absolutely love it. I had been eyeing the Michael Kors (he makes the best watches!) gold and rose gold styles but they are a little out of my budget or would require me to save instead of impulse purchase. Luckily I stopped by the Rack one day on my lunch break and there this one was! It was the only one like it and I scored it for only 40 bucks, yippee! I am really loving the color, it seems to go with everything and I like that it's a little different than a basic gold or silver.

I hope everyone is having a fantastic long weekend! I have the paid holiday off today so I have to think of something fun to do so I can say that I'm getting paid for it. :)

There will be more outfit posts soon, I promise. I've been slacking a bit on that front. The boyfriend is moving away (only 80 miles so I'll live) soon for a school program so we've been spending as much time doing fun summer things as possible.

Casual work day

Old Navy silk tank and gold necklace, Ann Taylor Loft cargo trousers, Franco Sarto heeled sandals.

This is just a casual outfit that I put together for work this week since it was so warm out. I like these cargo trousers as an alternative to jeans or simple black pants. They're casual but I think the dark grey color makes them a little bit sophisticated. I love these Franco Sarto sandals too. Definitely one of my favorite brands for shoes that are stylish but still classic and comfortable. I, for one, can't wear stilettos all day without dying so any heels I buy have to be somewhat comfortable or they just won't get worn! I'm in a bit of a shoe frenzy right now, though. I'm determined to build a solid collection of heels and wedges for every occasion that are comfortable enough to wear. Platforms are the key! :)

On another note, are any of you on Pinterest? It's a really fun alternative to things like Tumblr; you can have different virtual 'boards' and can 'pin' inspirational photos or items to them. If you're interested, you can follow my boards here

Evening at the fair

F21 dress, Boy Scouts of America button down, thrifted boots

These photos were taken at a fun night at the local fair a couple weeks ago. My boyfriend is a photographer as well and wanted to get some cool night photos of the rides, etc. It was a beautiful night and while the crowd at the fair was full of annoying teenagers, it was still fun to run around looking at all the games and lights. I patiently waited for Brendan to finish photographing and finally got my reward: a big Elephant Ear! If you don't know what that is, it's a delicious pancake of thin dough that's fried and covered with cinnamon and sugar. Apparently it's an Oregon thing? I think they might have invented it at the zoo here. Either way, I was a happy camper after I got my Elephant Ear. :)

Pink pleats and summer clogs

H&M dress, Target clogs, Fossil watch

My new favorite dress! It seems like after so long of either mini skirts or maxi skirts, it's so nice that this tea length style dress or skirt is coming back in. I'm loving the pleated trend, too, and this color makes me feel so pretty and girly. Threw on my cheap clogs to add a little chunkiness to an otherwise feminine outfit. I'm excited to throw on a chunky knit over this dress for fall, too.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

A little piece of vacation

8.13.11 Cape Kiwanda and Neskowin Beach at the Oregon coast

Had a lovely mini vacation camping trip over the weekend and it was so nice to get away from the city for a little while and play around like little kids. We found a great camping spot a little inland by a lake, and drove to the beautiful coast to spend a whole day there. We climbed to the top of a huge sand dune and enjoyed the view. Then we ran around Neskowin Beach, where we found stumps from an ancient forest at low tide (cool!) and poked sea anemones until they moved. As you always should camping/at the beach, we also drank beer, built a fire, and roasted marshmallows and (fake for me) hot dogs.

In case you're wondering, the water is really freaking cold. Numb feet in seconds!

Working with classics

H&M plaid shirt, Gap cuffed jeans, Crown Vintage loafers, Raen Optics sunnies

Wore this simple and casual outfit out to a dinner with friends last week. I'm so glad I found this plaid at H&M because I love the navy and green together. Paired it with a pair of my most casual, but classic, jeans, and my soft leather loafers. It's not exactly the most innovative outfit I've ever put together, but sometimes wearing something really simple and classic just feels right. Doesn't that pizza look yummy? It was.

I hope you all had as wonderful of a weekend as I did! I spent the weekend camping with friends and running around the beach, and I have the bug bites and sand in my backpack to prove it. :)
